Well, friends, tv show obsession has once again reared its ugly head in my life. After spending ten days or so with my family and being exposed to countless NCIS reruns in completely random order, I decided that I could just start watching reruns on various networks and basically see the whole show without having to procure the DVDs. So I've been DVRing eps for the past couple of weeks. I finally remembered to start watching them on Wednesday, and this weekend, when I didn't have anything particular planned, I went a bit crazy. I now have a spreadsheet with all the episodes listed in order, with color-coding to represent what I've watched, what's on the DVR already, and what is scheduled to tape soon. Since Jess is out of town, I spent my weekend with Gibbs, Tony, McGee, Ziva, Ducky, and Abby (and a few episodes with Kate too, but that hurts too much to talk about). It's consuming my life in a completely unhealthy way, and I'm pretty sure the only reason I was able to manage getting to work today was because I basically watched every episode I had recorded (with the exception of a couple I'm saving until after the preceding eps record on Wednesday). [I also knitted a lot, but I don't have much to show for it yet. Maybe I'll take some pictures tonight.]
Never let it be said, that I hide my flaws from my adoring public. I fully acknowledge how lame I am, but I gotta be me.
Don't tell, but I think I love McGee best of all.
And if you haven't already purchased my Christmas present, may I make a suggestion?
Which do you want--"I'm sorry" or "you're welcome"? I'm so glad you share a TV show with me now, and I'm so glad you had some down-time to get to rest up and catch up! (and jealous of that last part) I'm not surprised in the least that McGee is your favorite. Can't wait to watch with you again!
ReplyDeleteThe first season of Navy NCSI was comprised of 23 episodes. McGee was introduced in episode 7. His one shot guest appearance was a hit with audience. So the producers brought him back for episode 11. After that episode the producers decided to add him to the rest of the season. By the time all the negotiating was done, McGee would appear in the final six episodes of Season 1(episodes 18-23). So the first season will be very light on McGee. This shows fans they can be influence on their favorite series.
ReplyDeleteNCSI is a very well written series. The series is very well cast. Gibbs, Abby, Ducky, Tony, Ziva, and McGee are great character and they lift NCSI above the standard crime procedural. I was sad when Sasha Alexander( the actress playing Kate) decided to leave the show to be more of a full time mother in real life, but the addition of Ziva to the team made the series even better. The series has definitely gotten better with the years. For the last three years, I have only watched the series about once a month. I need to change that.
NCSI is one of the few series that has actually increased in viewership as it progresses, as opposed to most series which decrease in popularity as they continue as a long running series, and has even been able to finish second to American Idol, a time slot seen by many as a "death slot" for most series.
For NCIS’ first season, the series rank 26th out of 145 shows. The seventh season NCSI was ranked 5th. This is truly a testament to a series getting better and better with age.
I hope your blog will come to the attention of Sean Murry (McGee) so he will sign his new contract. As of today, he is the only cast member who has not signed a multiyear deal with CBS. The rest of the cast is contracted for 3 more seasons.
